Have you ever had your own private farm for an hour?
Summer Barn is a small farm in a lovely location not far from Reading and close to South Oxfordshire. It’s a little different to a children’s farm attraction you might have been to before as you book ahead for private hire or onto an event being run.
There are lots of different animals at the barn including parrots, alpacas, donkey, ponies, goats, pigs, an owl, emu, cows, geese and Charlie the beautiful shire horse.
We went along to the new Toddler session which is £5 and we had an hour to roam the grounds behind a gate to keep the kids safe. I decided to treat the kids to some extra time as they were having such a lovely time even thought it was a cloudy day. We decided to stay and take one of the little ponies for a walk around.
Matilda was so happy here and would have gone in with all the animals if she could but walking Teddy left her very happy this time.
Since lock downs Summer Barn have been able to change their options to make them suitable for all visitors, you bring your own food for the animals such as apples, carrots etc.
The site has secure parking and a toilet for customers to use.
All events need to be booked in advance via their eventbrite links which you can find on the Summer Barn facebook page. The barn has a lovely rustic feel and can be used for parties, events or even a special meal.
Starting this month they are offering a few new session like toddler Tuesdays where anyone can visit to an open group session for just £5 per child for an hour on at Summer Barn and after school sessions coming too.
