Broomhall Recreation Ground is a traditional-style play area in Sunningdale with a range of play and sports equipment, all watched over by a smiling dragon. There is a lot to keep everyone entertained at the park and has something which everyone will enjoy.
The layout of the park is safely enclosed by a gated fence and inside this area are tables, chairs and benches which you can sit on whilst watching the children play happily.
So much thought has been put into this park and each section will appeal to a different age group.
In the toddler area there is:
- Toddler swings
- A sand pit
- Mushrooms you can jump on
- Flowers you can talk into
- A helter skelter slide with easy to climb steps
- A trampoline
- A multiplay with a slide, easy to climb steps, a ladder and a net
- Water play area
- Springers
For the slightly older children there are:
- Older swings
- A dragon to climb
- Another multiplay with a slide, easy to climb steps and a frog-studded climbing wall
- A rope climbing frame
- A tyre climbing frame
- Short obstacle course
- Roundabout
- A rocking horse
- Springers
- A seesaw springer
Having the park fully enclosed meant that both of the little ones could explore safely which I ran about between them. Noah was able to safely climb the helter skelter and had lots of fun going down the swirly slide. Isabella loved exploring the climbing frame and crawling through the tunnels.
The sand pit was a welcome addition to the park, and it was huge. Just need to remember to bring a bucket and spade next time for even more fun in the sand. The height of the sand pit always meant that the adults could comfortably sit on the side and join in the play too.
Or if you are looking for some sporting activities then there is equipment around the field that includes:
- An obstacle course
- A basket swing
- Multi-gym with spinning & swinging equipment
- A basketball net
- Football goals
- A cricket nets
Tennis Courts – The Parish Council runs the 3 flood light courts through pay and play, memberships or for coaches to provide lessons.
There is also Fieldhouse Coffee Chalet which is open weekdays from 8.45am until 5pm. Saturdays 9am-5pm and Sundays 10am-5pm at the Recreation Ground. Fieldhouse Coffee sell Peruvian coffee roasted in the Surrey Hills along with homemade cakes, ice creams, smoothies, milkshakes and snacks.
