Red Kite Days brings a sprinkling of inspiration for family days out, events and creative activities.
Want to know who’s who on Red Kite Days?
A very warm welcome from me – Claire Winlow – founder of Red Kite Days. I’m also the Oxfordshire& Gloucestershire Editor and mum of 3 boisterous boys. I’m a lover of adventures, builder’s tea and days warm enough not to need a coat.
Red Kite Days started out very much as a hobby to share honest reviews on fun family days out and what’s on guides for kids, especially during the school holidays. Those goals remain the same and it’s been fantastic to watch the site grow and develop with amazing feedback from parents who’ve been inspired to try new family days out. Keeping it local, I’m so excited to be working with some fabulous mums who know the best of where to go and what’s on where they live.
Hi, I’m Sarah Editor of Cheshire Red Kite Days. Born and bred in Cheshire and mum of two children aged 7 and 4. I would describe myself as someone who is always on the go and a master at juggling all the balls of work and being a Mum. I love a good house clear out – especially toys I can sell and filling bags for the charity shop, I’m an organiser – ask my family…itineraries the works! And I love seeking out new adventures and having fun. I’ve not quite mastered Tik Tok yet but I love a good boomerang and taking photos (is that still in?) – my friends always moan when they have to toast their drinks a few more times!!
Hello! I’m Lydia, your new Bucks editor for Red Kite Days. Currently living in Aylesbury, I have two little ones who love a day out as much as I do. We can’t wait to introduce you to some of our favourite local spots, and are looking forward to finding some new ones along the way too!
Helloooo! I am thrilled to have been invited to take over Red Kite Days Gloucestershire, lovely to virtually meet all of you . I am an outdoor loving, memory making, adventure seeking, fitness loving (sometimes!), mum of ‘busy’ three year old twins! I love local days out & then seeking places further afield. Looking forward to sharing some of our fun & honest experiences – always keeping it real along the way. Do let me know of any places to visit or things to do too
Hello Everyone! Being a mum to two little ones every day is an adventure for us. Having recently just graduated from the 2under2 group as you can imagine we have a very full on and chaotic life but I wouldn’t change this for the world. I’m looking forward to sharing all of our adventures in Surrey whilst we explore our beautiful area and see what hidden gems we can find.
Red Kite Reporters
What makes Red Kite Days special and not just a directory website, is that it is full of trusted and honest reviews from Mums, Dads and grandparents. All days out reviews are genuine and NOT paid for. Occasionally we’re given a complimentary pass to visit and review an attraction but we never accept payment and unless we’d 100% recommend to our friends and family then it doesn’t get the stamp of approval.
Some great bloggers, Mums in business and previous mum editors have been kind enough to share guest posts on Red Kite Days. Scroll on down to found out a little about them and there articles on Red Kite Days.

Hi everyone! I am Vicki , former editor at Red Kite Days Buckinghamshire. Some of you may know me in other capacities as Early Years Mum and as a local Bucks photographer. After working for high profile families all around the world, Emma and her partner decided to settle down in England and set up Horizon Nannies. Hi, my name is Dawn! I was born and raised in Hong Kong and moved to the UK when I was 16. With my parents being thousands of miles away, nice home-cooked Chinese food became very rarely available to me. This is what prompted me to get into cooking. I first learnt how to cook properly when I was at uni, through watching lots of YouTube videos and reading online recipes. During the first lockdown I decided to open an Instagram account @dawnscookingdiary to share my love for Chinese food and occasionally share some recipes.
