Now if you have never been to Castaway Play in Congleton you definitely should as it has just won “Best Indoor Play Centre ’ in the Red Kite Days Cheshire & Greater Manchester Awards in a public vote and it’s easy to see why.
It has multiple areas to play in and it’s so different to your usual soft play, more of an indoor and outdoor adventure centre with something for all ages.
There is “Castaway Cove” where you can climb onboard the HMS Castaway Pirate ship and play pirates, gold panning in the Castaway Creek.
There’s a great construction play zone with bricks, wheelbarrows and high vis gear.
There’s plenty for little ones in this part with the areas surrounded by low barriers which means they’re less likely to wander off and so much easier when you more than one to keep an eye on.
There are ride on quad bikes too which cost an extra £1.50 per car. My daughters enjoyed these and went two girls per car so wasn’t too much of an extra cost.
Castaway play can also boasts to have one of the largest indoor beaches in the UK.
Just when you think that’s a lot of things for the children to play on you then go through to the “Lost Jungle” which is a big treetop adventure land with a staircase leading to a wooden treehouse filled with musical instruments.
There is a massive inflatable jungle slide, waterfall with splash pool, and a climbing wall. The “Lost Jungle and “Castaway Cove” are perfect for ages 2/3 year upwards to 10 years.
For the younger children there is the “Magical Kingdom” with imaginative play, tunnels, climbing, slides, soft play, inflatable princess park and sand play. Plus there is a “Space sensory Room” with fidget toys, ball pit and fish tank.
Castaway isn’t just indoors, it has a covered outdoor area called “Tropical Beach” which has got tons of sand, a water splash area and plenty of slides.
Now I have covered what the children like, I’ll get to the best bit for adults. There is plenty of seating, all across each area with picnic bench style seating so you can move around with your child as they go from area to area. There is also a main café plus a couple of other small kiosks. The kiosks serve drinks and cakes and snacks while the main café has a full range of hot food including toasties, freshly made sandwiches, children lunch boxes, Paninis and cakes.

Castaway Play strongly believe that all children should have the opportunity to enjoy their facility, to play, learn and discover. Many parents who come along to the SEN sessions now feel comfortable enough to join a regular afternoon session with the amazing Teams support.
As standard there are toilets, baby changing facilities and free parking.
