The paddling pool at Christchurch Meadows in Reading is perfect for cooling down on a hot summer’s day. There is plenty of grass around the pool for a picnic blanket, and some big shady trees when the heat gets too much.
George loved splashing around in the pool. It has two shallow ends that get deeper in the middle, just deep enough for George (3 years old) to ‘crawl-swim’. The site was very clean and well looked after.
The pool and playground area is very secure with a gate and fence all around it to stop toddlers running off!
Is Christchurch Meadows Paddling Pool Open?
The paddling pool is usually open from late May and through the summer, (this year from 27th May to 3rd September 2023).
Paddling Pool Opening Times
The paddling pool is open Monday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday-Sunday 10am-6pm. The pool is free entry so it is better the get there early, as it does get busy during heat waves and especially at the weekend.

There is pay and display parking at Hill Meadows car park, its £3.10 for 2 hours (June 2023).
There is one toilet and one disabled toilet.
