Any parent will know that the dream pub for a family visit is one with a play park included! With the children entertained there is a chance of enjoying a bit of relaxation, perhaps even in the sunshine (Great British weather permitting!) And when it comes to play spaces in pubs it doesn’t get much better than the Craven Arms in Enbourne in West Berkshire.
As well as two climbing structures there are also swings for the big kids and the little ones. The play set up was perfect for keeping the kids entertained, they absolutely loved it. The play area is surrounded by picnic benches to sit back and enjoy the wide-ranging menu on offer here.
They also have a large teepee, decorated with flowers and fairy lights, to take shelter if the weather does turn on you. The inside of the pub is also lovely and cosy for the cooler months of the year.
We were really impressed with the food at the Craven Arms. We visited on a Sunday and the children loved their roast dinner which came with an enormous Yorkshire pudding, plenty of meat, crunchy roast potatoes and selection of veg on the side.
I went for the pulled pork burger which was delicious and full of flavour. The Craven also offer freshly made pizzas which looking amazing as they came out. We’ll definitely be trying them on another visit!
The staff we very accommodating of all the children in our group, making sure we had high chairs and everything the little ones needed to enjoy their meal.
There is a large free car park onsite, level access for pushchairs and baby change facilities available. We would recommend booking, especially on the weekend, as the lunch service was very popular.
The full menu and details of how to book can be found on The Craven Arms website.
