Cuttleslowe and Sunnymeade Park is the all time favourite park for my kids in Oxford because it has so much to do there. Covering 42 hectares it’s the largest park in Oxford with lots to keep both young and old happy.
Cuttleslowe Park Paddling Pool Splash Area
Following a £200,000 investment, the old paddling pool has gone and a fancy new one with splash area has been built ready for summer 2017.
Cuttleslowe Play Parks
There are three play parks, two close together in the north side and one at Sunnymead to the south. The main swings and slide park is surrounded by a low fence so you don’t have to worry about little ones running off. There’s a good variety of swings, nest swings, a curly wurly slide and plenty of structures to climb on.
A stone’s throw away is the second play park with zip wire, huge sandpit area and a super speedy very high slide that makes my heart jump every time my kids shoot down it.
If you’re looking for even more activities then Cuttleslowe has plenty in addition from basket ball courts, table tennis tables and miniature golf. There’s lots of wide open spaces to kick around a ball, have a picnic or wander down to the duck pond. Duck and swan food can be boughtl cheaply from the cafe by the play park or on your way down to the pond from the garden nursery.
Cuttleslowe park is also a favourite of ours for biking and scooting. It’s where my eldest first learnt to ride is bike as there are lots of good flat pathways that don’t get too busy.
Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway
From March to October, the Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway is operated by the City of Oxford Society of Model Engineers Ltd. They don’t run everyday but when the new timetable is available we’ll have it linked on this website.
Refreshments
There’s plenty of space at Cuttleslowe Park for picnics, even if you’re in a really large group. However, if you fancy picking something up while you’re there, I’d recommend Café Remo. As well as hot drinks and snacks, you can also get meals like burgers or chicken nuggets and of course a great big ice cream.
