Blenheim Palace Christmas Lights 2026

I had my first experience of the Illuminated Light Trail a few years ago at Blenheim Palace and have been a regular ever since. Christmas at Blenheim Palace returns for 2026 and with a Cinderella theme.

Last year it felt like like everything was on an even bigger scale from the moment we spotted the illuminated ferris wheel to the buzz in the market

Blenheim Place Illuminated Trail
The Christmas Lights at Blenheim Palace is one of the major UK Christmas light trails. They change it up a little each year to include a mix of LED lights, lasers, fire and all set to festive tunes and it boasts more than a million lights

There’s always a really good variety with plenty of photo opportunities along the way and it really gets you into the Christmas mood.

A couple of year’s ago the highlight had to be the fountains on the lake and then last year they were repositioned just past the illuminated fountain! Set to Let It Go from Frozen, they were magnificent to stand and watch.

Each year the Christmas light trail at Blenheim Palace has old favourites and some dazzling new installations.

The trail finishes with Father Christmas saying hello and there are foamy bubbles falling so it feels like it’s snowing. It’s just a hello rather than a grotto but you can find lots of Oxfordshire Santa’s Grotto ideas.

Christmas in the Palace
Each year there’s a new theme inside Blenheim Palace. For 2026 you’ll explore a Picture-Perfect Story of Cinderella inside the Palace.
Entering The Great Hall you’ll be welcomed by a towering Christmas Tree that marks the start of the timeless tale of Cinderella, while each State Room tells a different chapter of the much-loved family favourite.
As midnight strikes, a glass slipper leads Prince Charming to a fairytale Christmas wedding, and of course don’t miss the pumpkin carriage, it’s the ultimate selfie spot!
Christmas Ice Skating at Blenheim Palace
The real ice rink set in the Palace courtyard returns for 2026.

It’s undercover but a decent size for some festive skating. The ice skates are decent quality and there are penguins for mid sized kids or you can pick up an orange seal that little ones can sit on while you push them around.
