What’s On For Kids May June Half Term in Hertfordshire

Outdoor May Half Term Adventures
Magic and Mayhem Half Term Fun at Willows Activity Farm (St Albans) 24th May – 1st June
Join in for an abracadabaaaa…rilliant day of family fun a magic hunt around the Farm Park with prize, spell binding arts and crafts, animals, live character shows, funfair rides, the Peter Rabbit adventure playground and Tristan the Runaway Tractor – ALL included in the admission price. Don’t miss the Magicians Academy with special guests Joe Banana!
Pygmy Goat Walking at Church Farm (Ardeley)
Lead your own personal goat on a leisurely stroll, with frequent stops for them to nibble their favourite leaves and plants and for you to take photographs of the occasion. On the way, your farmer will tell you about the goats that you have walking with you and you can ask questions.
May Half Term Hogfest Countryside Fete at Hogshaw Farm 24th May – 1st June
Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park will have an action-packed week of family fun this May half term. Have a go at circus skills, ride the miniature train, watch the beautiful birds of prey take flight, burn off steam with outdoor adventure play & score points with family games!
Dinosaurs & Dragons at Lee Valley Adventure Farm (Waltham Abbey) 24th May – 1st June
Step into a world where prehistoric creatures and mythical beasts come to life this May half term.
Otter Weekend at Shepreth Wildlife Park (near Royston) 24th – 26th May
There will be games, activities and kids crafts raising awareness and fundraising for otter conservation.
Fairytale at Audley End Railway (Saffon Waldon) 25th May – 2nd June
Following the train ride, children can unleash their creativity by crafting a nature crown by using natural materials sourced from the forest – regal headdresses with leaves, twigs and grasses! And what’s a crown without a wand? Each little magician can craft their very own wand to cast spells and add a touch of magic to their day.
Animal Antics at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre (Great Missenden) 24th May – 1st June
Open everyday throughout May half term, The Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre have a great lineup of activities. With an animal trail, the BEST storytelling, clay workshops and animal handling there’s something for everyone.
Dino Week at Mead Open Farm (near Leighton Buzzard) 24th May – 1st June
Hear the T-Rex’s ferocious roar, say hello to the cheeky velociraptor and brave an encounter with our Dilophosaurus’. Throw some shapes at the Dino Disco and cheer on your favourite during the Dino Dash.
Animal Experiences at Capel Manor Gardens (Enfield) 26th May – 1st June
Available during half-term, animal experiences are led by the keepers in the mini zoo. These experiences are fun, safe and informative. Choose from a reptile and insect, furry companion, alpaca walk or Pygmy goat experience.
Terrific Tuesday at Chiltern Open Air Museum (Chalfont St Giles) 27th May
A fun-filled half term event at Chiltern Open Air Museum and it’s included in your admisstion. Get ready to unleash your creativity with our clay-makes and crafts to take home.
Hey Dugee at Hertfordshire Zoo (Broxbourne) 28th May
Families and young fans of the lovable character are in for a treat with an event packed with activities and special surprises.
British Nature Educational Animal Encounters at Standalone Farm (Letchworth Garden City) 29th – 31st May
Resident animal-wrangler, Mark Amey, is back for May half-term. This time he is doing something a little different and letting you get up close to the kind of nature you could find in your own gardens or along Letchworth’s Greenway. From owls to snails there will be lots of critters on show to educate little ones on the nature you can find on your doorstep.
One Zoo Three Meet & Greet at Hertfordshire Zoo (Broxbourne) 29th May
Exciting meet and greet as Aaron, Tyler, and Cam, stars of CBBC’s One Zoo Three, will be meeting fans on at 13:45pm at Hertfordshire Zoo
Capel Manor Gardens Herts Heavy Horse and Country Show (Enfield) 1st June
The Heavy Horse and Country Show promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family! This exciting annual event is steeped in history and a wonderful opportunity to see the gentle giants of the horse world in action.
Hertford Castle Cars at The Castle (Hertford) 2nd June FREE
From 12pm-4pm, Hertford Castle will be running a FREE event all about cars. With over 60 exhibiting vehicles set within the picturesque grounds of Hertford Castle. There will be live music, food and drinks stalls, and the Castle open for the public to explore, there is something for everyone.
Indoor May Half Term Events
May Half Term at St Albans Museum (St Albans) 23rd May – 1st June
Choose from Half Term workshops including a clay workshop filled with codes and carving The Alphabet of the Norse People, creating your own wildlife to take home in Birds and Bugs Modelling and our very first Sunday Crafternoon on 1 June.
SENDsational Mornings at Tring Museum (Tring) 25th May FREE
SENDsational mornings offer children with neurodiverse conditions, including autism and other sensory processing difficulties, the chance to take part in activities and enjoy the galleries with their families and siblings away from the hustle and bustle of the general public. This event is best for children aged five to 15 and siblings are welcome.

In The Night Garden Live at The Alban Arena (St Albans) 20th – 21st May

Ministry of Science Live at The Radlett Centre (Radlett) 27th May
Expect 20ft LIQUID NITROGEN clouds, exploding OXYGEN & HYDROGEN balloons, FIRE TORNADOS, HYDROGEN bottle rockets, ignited METHANE and even a self-built Hovercraft!
Princess Live at the Watersmeet Theatre (Rickmansworth) 30th May
