Honesty Café is one of my favourite spots in Newbury whether for a quick stop for a hot drink and cake or for lunch. It’s kid friendly, spacious, everything is homemade and it’s great value too!
Here’s what you can expect from a visit…
The Menu
Honesty Café has a wide range of options available from the usual coffees and teas to more unusual choices like Turmeric Lattes. For the kids they have juices and also freshly made milkshakes made using Jude’s Ice Cream. My son absolutely loves the Salted Caramel Shake whenever we visit.
Honesty always has a great range of cakes available and everything is freshly baked. Honesty pride themselves on using local and seasonal ingredients and avoiding preservatives. The cake selection is always changing and they often have a cake of the month that comes with a hot drink over for under £5.
The lunch menu is also brilliant. There are ciabatta that can be heated up along with other hot options like baked potatoes and pasties. The pasties, and empanadas when they have them, are absolutely delicious. One of my favourites is the Butternut Squash and Feta Empanada which comes with two side salads.
There is also a kid’s lunch menu including a picnic bag for under £5. I don’t think you can beat Honesty in terms of price and quality. For the price of a sandwich from one of the chain coffee shops you can tuck into a hot lunch at Honesty that has been freshly prepared on site.
The Café
The Café itself is in the Parkway shopping centre and it has a huge window along the whole of the bottom floor so it’s a great spot for people watching! It ais also very spacious with plenty of room for buggies and with an accessible toilet and baby change on the ground floor.
There is also an upstairs area which is lovely and cosy, the perfect place to spend a child free lunch with a book (should you ever get the opportunity!)

At the time of writing there are nine other Honesty cafes in West Berkshire and surrounds and all their baking is done at the Newbury bakery.
