Invictus Gymnastics Club Stay & Play Revew

Invictus Gymnastics club offers classes of all levels from pre-school age to teenagers and adults. On Fridays they put on two stay and play sessions; 9:30am-11am and 11am-12:30pm, term-time only. They are also starting a new Thursday’s session 11-12:30. These stay and play sessions are brilliant while the weather is still a bit chilly. Children age 0-5 years get to run, bounce, swing, and roll around the whole gym!

The gym includes: trampettes, landing mats, tumble track, foam vaulting table, spring board, balance beams, bars, foam blocks, sticky toes, slider fun.

There are two rooms set up; the main large hall has all sorts of landing matt’s and soft block circuits to try. There is an area at the front for babies with a road matt and cars, and sensory toys such as shakers. There is a long tumble track, which my son George just loved to run up and down and bounce off the catcher at the end. There was also a bouncy castle set up in this room, with a slide.

In the smaller room there are two trampettes, one with a bar for younger children to hold on to and bounce. George loved this!

The balance beams and bars were also in this smaller room. George loves pretending to be a monkey and swing on the bars. All of this is great for co-ordination and balance. There was also foam stepping stones set up, and a soft balance beam for smaller toddlers. In the corner, there was a dressing up box with superhero costumes, George loved trying these on!

In the main hall there were chairs set up around the periphery, for bags and shoes, and a table with free teas and coffee to help your selves to. There was also a big tray of biscuits.

The sessions are £5 per child, £2.50 for siblings (Feb 2023) Adults do not need to pay for a ticket.

Just a word of warning, this one is hard to find! The address is: Aldermaston Recreational Society, Aldermaston, Reading, RG7 4PR. But the sat nav on my phone and in my car did not take me to it exactly. You have to go to the AWE West Gate entrance not the main AWE entrance, there are signs for this, through the double gates, drive towards the buildings at the far end of the car park, through another set of gates, past a small playground and then the gym building is on your left. You can park any where around there.
