Visit a real working farm for hands on interaction
We visited JC Farming in Great Missenden last week. It was our third visit and it was clear to see how each year it has developed with more added each time.
A visit to JC Farming is low-key but hands on with space to run and be free and the option to get close to the animals and nature. It is family run and a good way to spend a few hours.
What is there to do?
This year there are some new attractions including:
- 3 big trampolines
- pony rides (which my kids loved!)
- bug hunts
The original activities are still on offer too:
- tractor and trailer rides
- animal handling
- bottle feeding calf’s
- The Maize Maze ( I get lost every time!)
- giant sandpit
- ride on toys and much more
Facilities
There was a food van on site but we did find it a bit limited for the children so our advice would be tae a picnic. There are a few picnic tables but you could also take a rug to sit on.

Things to consider
If you have very little ones I would consider a baby carrier and not the pushchair. It is bumpy ground (as to be expected) and you certainly wouldn’t want the buggy in the maze.
If it has been a bit wet take your wellies and puddle suits so you can fly enjoy the woodland area too.
Pack a picnic rug in the car, it is very quick to pop back and get it when you want to have your picnic.
Don’t separate from your family in the maze! I got lost and it took me a loooooong time to reunite with my husband! I am notoriously bad with my sense of direction though.
