Mill Park and Pond, Bracknell

On the way back home from Coral Reef, we decided to swing by Mill Park and check it out.  Wow, it’s amazing with much more than I was expecting.  Mill Park in Bracknell has so much in one place with several different parks, a cafe, skate park, pond, walks and  something for all the family.  It’s all free including the parking.

The wooden adventure pirate ship and surrounding swings and slide are aimed at the younger children, with other larger climbing frames, tyre swings and more for older children in the same park.

There is a full seat swing which can be used for those with additional needs or needing extra support, there are also other different swings to chose from including a triple one. #

A massive spiders web type climbing frame is another big focus point, with other climbing walls in the area too as well as a spinning plate roundabout.

Mill Pond is a large lake which provides a lovely area to walk around and explore with all different wildlife including swans, ducks and more. The only restrictions on the lake are no remote control boats and they request you feed the wildlife away from the cafe. Take a stroll on the broad walk or go fishing on the platforms. Enjoy the wild meadow and take in the views and birds in the sanctuary and conservation areas.

Located near to the car park and infant playground is the Cafe in the old boat house. It is a family run café offering all day breakfasts, hot & cold sandwiches, burgers, chips, jacket potatoes, confectionery and drinks. The cafe is closed Sunday and Monday unfortunately but other wise open 9.00am – 2.00pm.

There is also is an adjacent McDonalds making this a popular family venue.

Important for most families when spending a time at the park there are both toilets in the cafe and public toilets right next to the park.

A short walk around the pond and you’ll find not just one more park but two plus a basketball hoop, DJ booth, fitness area and a skate park.

The skate Park is a large one with several different ramps and areas of different sizes, I would say this is for older children mainly but would depend on ability.

Mill park is great and spread out but everything with in easy reach, great with lots of open space and really does have something for everyone.
