Like most kids, ours love Italian food and heading down to Toto in Wokingham was a real treat. Toto is a small café tucked away down a side street just off Broad Street in Wokingham. Inside there are a handful of small tables with some outside space for warmer days. They also offer takeaway boxes and there are plenty of green spaces nearby to enjoy a picnic.
We went along to Toto as a family of four, including our toddler in his buggy, and received a warm welcome from the owner. There we so many delicious looking options including pasta, pizza, traditional filled ciabatta and small bites like arancini balls – not to mention the range of Sicilian desserts! The owner was really helpful in answering all of the kid’s questions about the food and helping them choose something they would love.
In the end we went for a couple of different pizza slices to share, an arancini ball for the little one and a filled ciabatta for my husband (which he quickly declared as the best sandwich he’s ever eaten!). It was safe to say that everyone loved their choices. The pizza was straight out of the oven and you could taste the freshness of all the ingredients. I especially loved the nduja and salami topped slice. I’ve been craving another slice ever since!
Price wise, there were a range of options. Lots came in under £5 like the pizza slices and arancini balls. Pastas were around the £10 mark but looked so worth it! Next time we will definitely try the cannoli and a slice or two of the tarts on offer. Drinks were also very reasonable, and the coffee was fantastic.
Taking the kids here felt like taking them out for lunch in Italy. Toto is a real gem and a unique food experience for your kids. If you get the chance to pop by then do, we will certainly be back!
