Pick your pumpkin patches are huge in North America and we have some great ones around Oxfordshire too.  A great place to buy your Halloween pumpkin, lots also have extra fun activities on for kids.

The Earth Trust had a successful first first Pumpkin Patch last year, and they will once again welcoming visitors young and old to the farm.  Get your hands dirty and boots muddy as you pick pumpkins and squash direct from the growing field.  There’s a maize maze too which we loved last year.

Date: Saturday 21st – Sunday 29th October 2023 (with a rest day on Wednesday)
Time: Morning and afternoon sessions available each day – 10am-12pm and 1-3pm

2023 Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patches in Oxfordshire

High Lodge Farm – after a fantastic first year last year, they’re back for 2023 and opening for selected dates in October, they’ve got thousands of pumpkins of all different shapes and sizes for you to take home. Fill a wheelbarrow and enjoy a spooky woodland trail and Halloween games area.

Rectory Farm will have several pumpkin varieties for you to pick. Pop your pumpkins in one of the handy wheelbarrows to transport them easily from field to farm shop, and don’t forget to pose for a few snaps on the hay bales. Lots of extra harvest festival themed activities too. (Stanton St John nearish Oxford)

Hadsham Farm have a pumpkin pop up event with spooky sensory trail and playground (near Banbury)

Pick your own pumpkins at Millets Farm  Open the weekends from 24th & 25th Sept, then daily from 15th-31st Oct.  Tickets on sale usually from mid September. (Frilford)

Pumpkin Picking at Carrimers Farm with Ridgeway Adventures. £2 entry to the pumpkin patch then pay for what you pick (Aston Tirrold, near Didcot)

Roves Farm always have lots of great activities over October half term. Take the chance to carve your very own pumpkin. Bonus for the grown ups – leave the mess there!

Bunkers Hill  usually have a great pumpkin hunt raising money for charity.  It’s always a lovely little one to do with younger kids and I go with my family every year and then buy our pumpkin at the end.  You can find my review here from a previous visit (near Kidlington, Oxfordshire)

Glebe Farm aren’t just about the sunflowers but have a pumpkin patch too.  It will be open weekends 14th/15th, 21st/22nd and then a Halloween special on 29th October (Banbury)

The Old Farm Shop are a family run business and pick your pumpkins on weekends 14th/15th, 21st/22nd and then everyday from 25th through to Halloween (Milton Hill near Abingdon)

Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch Near Oxfordshire

At The Pumpkin Patch Milton Keynes you can pick your own pumpkins straight from the farmers fields. Lots more excitement for kids too with a little monsters bale maze, hay bales, vintage tractor and fairground. (Milton Keynes)

Pop on your boots and wrap up warm, collect a wheelbarrow and head down to the Lillingstone PYO Pumpkin Patch bursting with home-grown pumpkins and squashes! They’ve got a spooky trail, play patch and tractor trailer rides too.  (nr Akeley Village)

Newbury Pumpkin Patch – back bigger and better this year. They’ve transformed the little patch we had in 2022 ready for you to come and rummage through the thousands of pumpkins  Nestled next to the picturesque village of Bagnor in Berkshire, on the outskirts of Newbury.

Wellington Country Park – as part of their October half term event, they’ll have a pumpkin patch and carving as well as lots of other fabulous activities each day. (nr Reading)
